Bryant K, aka Bryant Steward, is an artist / DJ / producer / singer / songwriter born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He’s lived in Prague and Berlin, but has spent most of his adult life in New York City. Having previously released on Stones Throw Records, Sammy is Bryant K’s first release on a Japanese label.

Tokyo-based producer sauce81, with the help of bassist Juju Smallwood, contributes a funk remix reminiscent of Sly and the Family Stone. Hamacide’s remix featuring Japanese beatboxer AFRA, makes extensive use of piano samples and synths to create an off-kilter reinterpretation of the boom bap roots of the original version produced by Buju Anton of Stockholm.
